Most often, retinoblastoma genetically determined (if the child inherits a mutant allele of the gene Rb, then the second mutation, which occurs already in retinoblaste leads to tumor formation). Cases where parents who recover from retinoblastoma are born healthy children, have a rather small percentage of the total number of children in such families.
