Cancer of the urethra is rarely seen in malignant tumors, and, more common among women. By extension, the urethra is long and 4 cm in women and up to 20 cm in men. Tumors can be stationed in both the proximal and the distal urethra, but the majority of female urethral cancers arise in the external opening at the junction between the epithelium of the urethra and the stratified squamous epithelium of the vulva.
